Where's Justin?

Being the father of the family.... (meaning the most important member)..... common sense would lend one to believe that there would be pictures of me on my own blog spot. Of course, there are none to be found, which may lend other to believe that I am not photogenic. This of course is not the case either.
So what is the reason for no pictures of yours truly? I have a few theories to pass along.
First, this blog spot came into being after a weekend trip to MN by my beautiful wife as she visited her bedridden sister. As sentimental as that may be, their togetherness brings out a weaker side in my wife.... a personality trait of being "picture happy". Left to herself, Ann usually isn't that into taking pictures of regular events, i.e. Owen at the park, Owen climbing into the kitchen cabinet, Owen sleeping. Yet when Ann is combined with older sister Cheryl, a strange estrogen like chemical is released in her which triggers Stegner portrait memories (Ann's grandfather used to own a studio), and thus the picture taking commences. This chemical and reaction is genetic, as mother Jill and sister Cheryl also have this trait.

Second, unknown to most people I am unable to be photographed. Most of you know that I do possess Flash-like qualities (Flash being the the super hero who is very fast), but this is not the case. Also, you may think that I may have a little vampire in me, due to my dog teeth being really huge. The real answer may be that I stay away from cameras due to the fact that I feel a picture of me may capture my soul.

Third, it may be a continuing of a process which I have observed of the Donelys. Since we live quite a distance apart, we do recieve many pictures of young Jaydon in his various adventures, which are really fun and enjoyable. Yet, sadly, Tom is not included in the pictures. We have recieved Jaydon pics. We have Cheryl and Jaydon. We have Jaydon, Jill, Gary and Cheryl..... but no Tom. Where is Tom? Has he slipped into the same Flash-like quality of demension that I have fallen prey to? Is he still "Law School". Not likely. Sadly, he may just not even exist.

I hope that you do continue to enjoy our blog.... even if you can't see my pretty face.

I love playing outside!

Ann and Owen at Christmas.
Showing off all his teeth!

What's New

Our little boy is not so little anymore. He's 14 months now and running around. He loves eating cheerios and looking at books. Playing outside is a favorite activity, and he thinks picking up sticks and leaves are the greatest. "Mama," "Dada" and "Bye-bye" are words that he can say and of course he loves making lizard, elephant and woodpecker sounds. He's already at a 3rd grade reading level...maybe not, but we think he's a little genius-to-be! :)
